Mel Gibson drunken bigot
August 3, 2006 on 6:03 am | In Get a Life | 2 CommentsHis recent comments expressing his anti-semitic views are inexcusable. He has attempted to use the “I was drunk defense”. That just doesn’t matter and is a seperate isssue altogether. I do hope he learns for it but he should have to pay the price for years not days or weeks. Those types of views didn’t form overnight ao he has a long way to go towards redeeming himself. I would hope that many will shun working with him until he shows a longterm progress.
A change in political landscape
August 2, 2006 on 6:25 pm | In Political Powers | 1 CommentIt doesn’t seem like an ideal time to be a republican these days. That is quite a shift from just a few years ago. However I still don’t see a “proud to be a democrat” sentiment. But with the mid-terms right around the corner that could change quickly. I think a decided victory in the mid-terms for the democrats will energize the party. The question is can they sweep the mid-terms without first being energized. I say maybe if the republicans stay home and don’t vote. Not a great scenario but it seems to be the way things happen. With major gains this round the democrats will have an excellent opportunity to take the whitehouse also. That is if they don’t screw it up.

Some cost overruns hidden, Congress not informed, New York Times says
Is there no end to the deception and outright lies regarding the war in Iraq.
It just proves the age old wisdom that telling one lie always leads to more lies to cover the first
