Conditional talks with Iran possible
May 31, 2006 on 11:24 am | In Political Powers | 1 CommentAssuming Iran agrees to halt all its enrichment activities, and assuming this is verifiable. I’m not sure I have faith in any verification. But it is good to see our government at least appearing to be reasonably diplomatic. The Bush style diplomacy of do what we say or we will kick your ass isn’t going over too well in most parts of the world. We currently have few diplomatic options with Iran so I see this as a positive step. Whether it bears any fruit or not it is the right gesture at the right time.

May 31, 2006 on 8:17 am | In Other Stuff | 1 CommentIt is no wonder these guys doing cleanup after Katrina are able to get over on FEMA. These guys follow disasters and have been scamming insurance companies & consumers for years. I think FEMA could use a crash course in claims settlements adjustments from the insurance industry. But of course the insurance companies themselves are overwhelmed with claim I am sure. The high volume of money materials & labor calls out to people looking to make a buck honestly or otherwise. There will be many a fortune built on the back of Katrina victims. Some will be justified other will not.

Katie Couric’s Final “Today” Show
May 31, 2006 on 5:59 am | In News Headlines | 2 CommentsWatching over the last few weeks she has gotten many sincere farewells and best wishes from a huge list of VIPs. She has been a morning staple of the today show for 15 years. I would say that is long enough and she should be ready for a change. No more getting up at the wee hours of the morning as she heads over to rival CBS evening news & 60 minutes.

Good Katie luck and I will miss you in the mornings.

May 30, 2006 on 1:38 pm | In Get a Life | 3 CommentsWho hasn’t heard of Old Faithful? Yellowstone National Park (National Park Service) looks like a great place to check out. There is so much to see and do in that part of the country. I have a feeling it would take a long time to even scratch the surface at Yellowstone. The park is a very unique and interesting destination to say the least. With hiking fishing camping and much much more it is an outdoor adventure wonderland. Who could ask for a better place to get away from all the distractions of suburban or urban existence?
